Melbourne-based hip-hop OG’s MC Wasp and DJ Dopebeat have returned with some brand new old school flavour, following the release of their fresh cut, ‘Fossil‘.
The mellow track hears the pair trade bars over ‘boom bap’ styled production, while also offering an ode to the early legends of the game.
Moreover, ‘Fossil‘ is about the emcees representing the music that they grew up listening to, as they reminisce on their position within the local culture today.
Accompanying the single is a cinematic masterpiece which captures both MC Wasp and Dopebeat spitting their verses to camera. Furthermore, the visuals perfectly complement the track, as the scenery of graffitied walls and a boom box stereo screams out 90’s hip-hop.

With MC Wasp and Dopebeat continuing to hold it down for the city, the pair prove that hip-hop will never die and that real OG’s can still exist and be relevant. Both of these dudes are a force to be reckoned with and they aren’t slowing down anytime soon. As always, don’t sleep!
