Upholding the phrase ‘big things come in small packages’, emerging Melbourne-based creative Carter has slid into 2020 with a stellar mini EP titled ‘ABSENT‘.
Compiled of three substantial tracks, the project encloses a compelling concoction of fresh sonics and gives listeners an introspective insight into his multilayered outlook.
“The title of the EP serves as a reminder for myself to stop being absent from the moment, and to be more present and connected,” says Carter.
Written in the tail end of 2019 Carter told TLF each of these songs individually reveals a different side of himself. For instance, ‘Act Out‘ encloses a “you can’t tell me nothing attitude”, whereas ‘What I Need‘ sees him acknowledge his weaknesses and address challenges.
Further, this EP showcases his promising evolution as an artist and represents a significant growth within his catalogue by demonstrating a strong display of dexterity and versatility. Carter continues to prove he’s here for the long haul by consistently bringing the perfect blend of tender flows and silky melodies.

Looking ahead, Carter assured us we can expect to hear a lot more variations of himself this year, as he’s really been trying to focus on creating music that feels right.
“I’m an over-thinker by nature, so I’m challenging myself to shut off more noise and try to create out the box as much as possible and try different stuff. When it works i’ll know,” said Carter.
