MoreLifeMonday: Charlie Threads

Welcome back to ‘MoreLifeMonday’, a day for Melbourne’s very own to get another shot in the limelight. This week is dedicated to the one and only Charlie Threads, a local emcee who is absolutely killing it as of late.

Charlie released his first project, ‘Incognito’ (listen here), back in 2014 which featured fellow 90’s RD members Baro, Marcus and Sebastian.

Compiled of 15 tracks the mixtape was a huge success and received a lot of well deserved attention, making him one to watch ever since.

Following ‘Incognito’, last year Threads dropped ‘Palm Trees In Graveyards’ (listen here), a perfectly structured project exploring his personal development both as an artist and within himself.

One thing that strikes the listener on this tape is the originality and clear artist progression. Charlie really pushes boundaries with his raw and technical rhyme schemes as well as incorporating soulful melodies on some tracks too.

Since the release of ‘PTIG’ the young artist has caught a lot of domestic attention and performed at numerous events including the annual music festival, Groovin The Moo.

Recently Charlie has been teasing the release of his brand new ‘Rainy Weather Music’ project. And from what we’ve heard so far, it definitely sounds like we’re in for a treat!
