Melbourne is home to some of the most talented artists, and not enough credit is given. This week ‘MoreLifeMonday’ presents, NYUON, a young and upcoming emcee who really deserves more recognition.
NYUON has been dropping absolute fire for years now, but he gained a lot more attention after coming runner-up in Melbourne’s Music Bank competition.
Recently he released his first single for his upcoming EP, which is due out sometime this year. The song ‘Old Timers’ (listen here) is a wavy intervention inside Nyuon’s emotions and thoughts, delivered through heavy ‘conscious and self-reflective’ bars.
Last month the young artist also released killer visuals to go with the track (watch below). Directed by ZS Design, the video features NYUON alone at night in the heart of Melbourne city, clearing his mind with the ‘therapeutic’ lyrics of the track.
Young Nyuon is definitely one to watch as he’s constantly giving the Australian hip hop genre a push in the right direction, and reminding everyone the talent this city has to offer.
