Following the release, TLF managed to chat with Kyso about his influences, the new single, what drives him to create and more! Check it out below:
For those who dont know, who is Kyso?
A 21-year-old Hip-Hop Artist hailing from the middle of nowhere. I like to think of myself as a ‘new wave’ rapper, most of my music will be over trap beats and have autotuned vocals on them. But I also like to see myself as a very poetic rapper who can really impact people with my words.
Tell us about your biggest influences, what drives you to create the music you do?
My biggest influence as a kid was Michael Jackson. The way he could make people including myself feel with his music was super inspiring. His stage presence was incredible and something I will always admire.
Right now J Cole has to be my biggest influence though. I love his music, but Cole as a human being is someone I definitely aspire to be like. His music has got me through some tough times. That’s definitely one of the things that drive me to make music, is helping people. I want to change the world with music and I hope one day I can.
Congrats on the release of your new single, what was the process like creating it and how did it come together?
Thanks, man, I honestly had the beat for like a year just sitting in a folder and I kept saying to myself “I’m gonna make something special over this beat” and I just kept being patient with it until one day I got inspired and wrote ‘Get It Right’ in a day. I played around with the hook for a while but then finally got something I was happy with
What other plans do you have for the rest of 2018, anything we should be aware of?
Look as far as the rest of 2018 I’m just trying to ride the wave of this new single and see where it takes me. Promote it heaps and make sure it reaches its full potential. Also while working on new music of course.
