Returning for her second single of 2020, rising Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Priya Francis has unveiled a smooth, alternative R&B gem ‘Jeans‘ which comes as an ode to growing up and growing apart.
Paying homage to an ongoing partnership between Francis and frequent collaborator / producer Jarrod Hambleton, this new record presents a notably more edgier sound than her past releases. It welcomes a more direct style of songwriting and storytelling, as well as heavy synths and the ever-present guitar riffs that are adopted throughout her entire music catalogue.
Further ‘Jeans‘ unites the ongoing struggles of growing up, strained relationships and reconciling emotions, by experimenting with an assuredly raw new sound.
Looking forward, Priya Francis has been working on an upcoming EP for the majority of the last two years, making each release a step closer to a boldly personal body of work. Don’t sleep!
