From recording music in her bedroom and posting it to SoundCloud in 2016, Melbourne-based (via Jakarta) artist Matahara has newly arrived on the scene to unveil her debut single ‘What a Waste‘.

Deriving her name from the Indonesian word ‘matahari’ – meaning ‘the sun’, Matahara draws inspiration from Electropop, Dream Pop, Hip-Hop, and Dance music. As a result, ‘What a Waste‘ offers a vast blend of sonics to seamlessly create a radiating display of euphoric undertones.

What’s more, the record is delicately laced with elegant vocals and luminous melodies in a way which perfectly binds the single together. Start to finish Matahara has the listener hypnotised and completely immersed. We can’t wait to hear more from the budding young artist!
