Offering 90’s R&B sonics, the record is stripped back with simple percussion and reverberant guitar riffs, allowing Kinkora’s voice to glimmer at the forefront. Here she laces the track with tranquil harmonies, fervent lyricism and glossy undertones reminiscent to the likes of H.E.R., Sabrina Claudio and Jorja Smith.
Speaking on the single, Kinkora says;
“I’ve dealt with pretty full on anxiety for a long time. The song is primarily a thank you to my partner who has supported me and provided me with so much love and care during challenging times – and also to my family/friends who are always there for me. It’s a song rooted in gratitude.”
What’s more, accompanying the release is a perfectly crafted music video which explores the concepts of personal connection, and features some of the key people in Kinkora’s life. Visually it captures a feel-good spectacle with a range of quirky aesthetics, including a yellow accessory themed picnic party, although the attendees rock all white and style traditional 3D glasses.
