A little over a month ago, one of the city’s most exciting new acts CD shared her second release for 2020 with ‘Mr. M.I.A.‘, an avant-garde rendition of Erykah Badu’s ‘Tyrone‘.
Complementing her elegant cadence with dreamy Jazz instrumentation, courtesy of Joshua Albert (drums) and Harry Cooper (flute), the record hears CD deliver a magnetising performance by way of soulful melodies and fervent lyricism.
‘Mr. M.I.A.‘ reminds us of her innovative ability to push boundaries and create a timeless catalogue for her listeners. It’s clear CD is quickly establishing herself as one to watch. Don’t sleep!
